Description

Nos 26 and 28 New Market are buildings from the 18th century or early 19th century, standing four storeys tall and constructed of stone. Each storey features two windows, all set within stone architraves and fitted with hung sashes, some of which have glazing bars. The ground floor includes a stone architrave around the window and a modern door for No 28. No 26 has a mid-19th century shop front with glazing bars and plain pilasters. It also features a panelled door topped by a rectangular fanlight with four lights, and the remains of an old doorway can be seen. Brackets support the eaves. Nos 14 to 34 (even) are part of a group.
