Description

Bondgate 1. 1480 (North Side) No 18 (Bowling Green Hotel) SE 2045 1/6 30.7.51. II GV

  1. Stone built, stone slated, two stories, 5 windows in the width. Wide plain string course at first floor window cills of which cills form part; plain Venetian window above central doorway. Two stacks at gable ends, one good moulded chimney. No glazing bars. Front elevation painted. Has on first floor in west gable a doorway now walled up; this has a pediment lettered and dated in the triangle: N A (over) 1755. There is no evidence of the former existence of an external stone staircase to this doorway. (The doorway jambs have been removed).

Nos 10 to 34 (even) and 38 to 44 (even) form a group.
