Description

The dovecote, laundry, and sheds at Home Farm date from the late 18th century and were restored in the 20th century. This tall brick building features a hipped stone slate roof and stands two storeys high with three bays. There is a central carriageway with a segmental brick arch, flanked by cart sheds. An external stair on the north side leads to the upper floor. On the south side, there are five windows, three of which are blocked, all with segmental brick arches. A brick string course runs at floor level.

Inside, the upper floor is lined with hundreds of nesting recesses, and the ledges have been restored using broken concrete slabs. The laundry building at the eastern end has a lower gabled roof and features segmental-arched windows and a doorway on the left. Attached to the north side and extending to the barn is a five-bay single-storey shelter shed, also with a stone slate roof and segmental-arched openings. This range encloses the western side of the farmyard.
