Description
The Old Lamb Guesthouse is a public house that has been converted into a guesthouse, with alterations made in the early 20th century. Originally built in the early 19th century, it features hammer-dressed gritstone and a stone slate hipped roof. The building is two storeys high with cellars and an added attic dormer. It has three windows with plain stone lintels and sills, and sash windows that include glazing bars. The central entrance is a round-headed doorway topped with a semicircular fanlight that also has glazing bars. There is a large central dormer window with three lights added in the 20th century. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut bay with large windows, also from the early 20th century, and steps with a barrel ramp leading to the beer cellar on the right. Inside, the layout features a central through-passage plan with a staircase on the left.
