Description
The Cricketers Arms Public House is a mid-19th century building that has been altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and features a low-pitched slate roof with stone copings and turned-back kneelers. To the left, there is a rebuilt range that was formerly a terrace of cottages, which is now part of the public house. The building has small paired eaves brackets and stands two storeys high with attics, being two rooms deep. It has three windows across the front, which were originally sash windows but have been replaced with top-hinged casements, all with plain stone sills. The central entrance features a plain round-headed doorway with a fanlight above it. Stone chimney stacks are located over the gable ends, and there are round-arched attic windows in the gables. The interior has been replanned and refitted in the late 20th century.
