Description
1049 and 1051 York Road is a house that has been divided into two homes. It dates from the mid-18th century, with later alterations from the 19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a steep-pitched slate roof with gable ends. It has two storeys and three windows with irregular spacing. On the first floor, the left side has two sliding casements, one with two lights and the other with three lights, while the right side has a small four-pane sash window. On the ground floor, the right side has a sash window similar to the one above, and the left side has a fixed three-light window from the 20th century. There is a modern glazed door off-centre and a plain door to the left. A later brick chimney stack is located at the centre of the roof. At the rear, there is an added single-storey lean-to with small windows positioned under the eaves. The steep pitch of the roof suggests that there may be an early roof structure inside. The interior has not been inspected.
