Description

The building is a house, now divided into two dwellings, dating from the middle to late 18th century and altered subsequently. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a stone slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan and two storeys, originally with three bays. A doorway is offset to the left of the centre, with a sash window above it, both with simple surrounds. Otherwise, there are two 3-light windows on each floor, all with flat-faced flush-mullions and plain surrounds. Gable chimneys and gable copings are present. A small addition to the right-hand end, incorporating the entrance to Larkfield Cottage, is not part of the registered building. The left gable features a round-headed attic window with imposts and a keystone. The rear elevation has a tall, round-headed stairwell window in a similar style, with glazing bars and an intersecting traceried head, plus a blocked taking-in door to the left, and windows matching those at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
