Description
Ivy Cottage is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It has been altered and recently enlarged. The construction is of coursed squared sandstone with quoins, now strap-pointed, and a stone slate roof. Originally L-shaped, with a rear outshut to the left half, the property has a recent addition to the other half which is not included in the listing. The front elevation is two storeys and three bays, symmetrical, featuring a central doorway with a plain surround and two two-light windows at ground floor. Above are three three-light windows, all with flat-faced flush mullions and plain surrounds. Gable chimneys and gable copings are present. The sides and rear of the building are of less architectural interest. The interior was not inspected.
