Description
This is a block of four cottages located on the south side of Cross Green. Dating to the 18th century, the cottages are constructed of stone with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high. The windows are a distinctive feature, each with three lights separated by plain stone mullions; these remain original. These cottages represent a late example of Yorkshire stone houses designed to accommodate leaded lights directly fixed to the stonework, a method that ceased to be used afterwards. Modern stone architraves now frame the doorways.
