Description

This is a row of early 18th-century dwellings, with No. 67 dating to the late 18th century. The buildings display 19th-century windows on the first floors. They are constructed of coursed rubble, with some sections of deeply coursed stone, and quoins. The roofs are covered in stone slates. The row is two storeys high. The ground-floor windows retain double chamfered mullions; No. 59 has a 4-light window that has been altered, No. 61 a 6-light window also altered, No. 63 has 19th-century openings, and No. 67 has late 18th-century openings. Most of the first-floor openings are 19th-century in style, with one 9-light window at No. 61. No. 63 features a prominent ashlar eaves stack, which is tall, tapers, and has a moulded cap. The rear elevation shows varying double chamfered windows and a stone gutter and spout at No. 61. The interior of No. 61 includes some timber-framed elements with two posts, and a rear outshut extension. Significant features are the massive, stopped chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
