Description

40 New North Road is a mid-19th century building constructed of ashlar stone. It features a pitched slate roof that is hipped at the south end and stands two storeys tall. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course. On the first floor, there are three ranges of sash windows. The ground floor includes a tripartite sash window with a moulded surround, moulded cornice, and blocking course, as well as a canted bay supported by Tuscan piers, complete with a full entablature and blocking course. The entrance door is adorned with an oblong fanlight and flanked by Tuscan three-quarter columns, topped with a moulded cornice and blocking course.
