Description

This is a mid-19th century pair of houses, Lyndhurst, located on the North Side of New North Road. The houses are built of rock-faced stone with a fish-scale slate roof and deeply projecting eaves. The design is symmetrical, with a central two-bay section that has gabled, two-storey giant relieving arches. The ground floor of the central bays features canted bays with mullioned and transomed windows and a traceried parapet with a moulded rail. The first floor of the central bays has three-light stone mullioned windows, each with a shaped hood mould. The outer bays have two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor. The front doors are set behind timber porches with steep pitched roofs and elaborately bargeboarded gables. Each porch has trefoiled side lights and a shaped glazed panel in the gable.
