Description

Nos 143 to 147 on Wakefield Road are mid-19th century buildings constructed from ashlar stone with a pitched stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, with Nos 145 and 147 featuring a decorative band. The first floor has four ranges of sash windows and three blocked windows, one of which has trompe l'oeil glazing bars. No 143 includes a ground floor window with an elliptical sash and lintel, while No 147 has a contemporary shopfront. Additionally, No 143 has an area with cast iron railings topped with spear finials, and No 145 has steps leading to its doors, which are flanked by later, more ornate railings.
