Description

Nos 4 and 5 George Street are late 18th-century buildings constructed from ashlar stone. They rise three storeys and feature a plain string course above the first floor, a moulded eaves cornice, and a blocking course. Both buildings have two ranges of double-hung sash windows, with No 5's windows including glazing bars. No 5 also boasts an elaborate mid-19th-century canted bay shop front, while No 4 showcases an impressive late 19th-century shop front, which includes two semi-circular glazed bays and glazed semi-dormers, all set on marble plinths.
