Description
The Co-operative Stores is an early 19th-century building located on King Street. It is constructed of ashlar and stands three storeys tall. The building features a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course supported by a giant pilaster order. On Russell Street, there are five ranges of double-hung sash windows, while King Street has nine. The shopfronts are modern. There is also a two-storey mid-19th century extension on Russell Street, which includes a moulded eaves cornice and blocking course, along with two ranges of double-hung sash windows in moulded surrounds. The first-floor windows are segment-headed, and the second-floor windows have ornamental aprons.
