Description

37-41 Kirkgate is an early to mid 19th century building constructed of ashlar stone. It stands three storeys tall and features a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course. The ground floor has a full entablature supported by paired Tuscan pilasters that frame the doors and windows. The upper floors are adorned with six ranges of sash windows that include glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are three pairs of double doors with moulded panels and fanlights that also have glazing bars, along with late 19th century shop windows set in the original openings. The property is complemented by plain cast iron railings surrounding the area.
