Description
Nos 3 and 5 on New Street in Honley form a terrace, likely originally four separate dwellings, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features quoins on the south-west corner. It has a stone slate roof and stands two storeys tall, with a basement at No 3.
On the north-west elevation, the first two dwellings on the left have an entrance (one part blocked) and a three-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. Each of these dwellings has two two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor, although one of these has been altered. The third dwelling from the left includes an entrance and a two-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor, along with a three-light stone mullioned window on the first floor. The dwelling on the right features a central door, which is part blocked, and has one two-light stone mullioned window on each side on both floors, with only one mullion remaining. The south-west gable has been rebuilt.
