Description

Reins Farm is a pair of farmhouses built in 1754, as indicated by a datestone. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with quoins and have a stone slate roof with gable copings on carved kneelers. The south elevation features two central doorways with deep lintels and a carved plaque inscribed "LA 1754". To the left of the doorways is a single four-light stone mullioned window, although two of the mullions have been removed. A canted bay window has been added to the right. Originally, there were four two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor, with the two to the left now lacking mullions. Two three-light stone mullioned windows remain on the second floor, but are blocked. The west and east gables both feature a three-light stone mullioned window on each floor; the mullions are recessed. A small basement-level opening with a segmental arch is present on both gables.
