Description
Dalton Lodge is a late 18th century or early 19th century building, likely the house for the mill owner of Dalton Mill. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and includes a decorative band and a moulded eaves cornice. There are three ranges of sash windows with glazing bars, and each of the east and south fronts has a late 19th century canted bay window. The entrance door has six moulded panels and a semi-circular fanlight, with flanking panels that have fluted capitals and a segmental pediment. The door is accessed by two steps, which are flanked by dies featuring statues of lions. On the north side, there is a round-arched staircase window with intersecting glazing bars.
