Description
Revenue Chambers is a mid-19th century building constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a hipped slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement. The building features a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course, along with continuous sill bands and imposts. The rusticated quoins add to its architectural detail.
On the ground floor, there are over-arched Venetian windows, which are framed by rusticated voussoirs, jambs, and keystones, supported by Tuscan piers and entablatures. The upper floors have five ranges of paired windows, with moulded voussoirs and keystones; the first floor windows are round-arched, while those on the second floor are segment-headed. The elevation facing Wood Street is similar, featuring two window ranges.
