Description

This is a terrace of weaver's houses dating from the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of hammer-dressed stone with stone slate roofs. The ground slopes, resulting in a basement level at number 63. Numbers 53, 55, and 57 are identical, each featuring a three-light window and entrance at ground floor level, and two two-light windows on the first and second floors. Numbers 59 and 61 are mirror images of each other; each has an entrance and a three-light window to the ground floor, a three-light window to the first floor, and two two-light windows to the second floor. Mullions have been removed from the second-floor windows of number 59. Number 63, which may have originally been two dwellings, has a central doorway with a three-light window to the left and an altered window to the right. The first and second floors each have four two-light windows. A single light window is present on the basement level.
