Description

The coachhouse west of Fieldhead, dating from the early 19th century, is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof. It has stone brackets supporting the gutter and coped gable ends. The east side, which faces the courtyard, includes a shallow pediment-shaped gable topped with a tall cast iron weathervane. Below this, there is a semi-circular lunette with glazing bars and a stone shelf underneath, intended for pigeons. The building has modern windows and a blocked round-arched window or loading door on the south gable end.
