Description

Nos 70 and 72 on Huddersfield Road are shops with underdwellings that form part of a terrace. They date from the early to mid 19th century, with a mid 19th-century frontage on No 70. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched tiled roof. No 70 is four storeys high, while No 72 is two storeys.

On the north-west elevation of No 70, the ground floor has two entrances and two large shop windows. The first floor contains two large single light windows. The south-east elevation has an entrance and a four-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor. The first floor features one two-light window and one three-light window, with a later larger two-light window positioned between them. The second floor has two two-light windows, while the third floor includes one four-light window and one three-light window.
