Description
This is an L-shaped range of former stabling and barns that adjoins Bentley Grange Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is constructed from deeply coursed hammer-dressed stone and features stone slate roofs, with a hipped roof over the barn. The two-storey stable range includes two wide doorways with heavy jambs and a lintel, along with similar window openings—one on the ground floor and four on the first floor. There are also large, later openings to the right and a brick extension. At a right angle to the stable range, the barn has two large elliptical arched entrances with quoined jambs, as well as similar entrances at the rear, one of which is blocked, along with a recent addition.
