Description
Birks is a longhouse type farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century, with 19th century windows on the south side. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and includes two ranges of tripartite stone mullioned sashes and one range of sashes. At the rear, there is a lean-to outshut with a small canted bay roofed by a single flag. The barn attached to the farmhouse has two stable doors, a pair of barn doors, and three oculi, each with a circular door. Additionally, there is a red brick cottage that is two storeys high and also has a pitched stone slate roof. The cottage features various two-light stone mullioned windows, as well as one four-light stone mullioned window on the first floor at the front.
