Description

Final Royd is a large, detached house, now divided, dating from the late 18th century, with later additions to each side. Constructed from hammer-dressed stone with quoins, it has a stone slate roof, partly tiled, with gable copings. The main facade is gabled and symmetrical, with five bays, and slightly-set-back three-bay wings to left and right. The central doorway is topped with a rectangular fanlight. The windows are sash windows, most without glazing bars; those on the left-hand ground floor have been extended downwards. A thermal window sits within the pediment gable. The wings feature sash windows without glazing bars, some of which on the right have been blocked, and two on the left extended downwards. A 19th-century doorway is located to the left. The rear of the central portion includes a round arched landing window and a thermal window in the gable. Further 2-light windows with glazing bars are present on each side.
