Description

This is a detached house, dating from the early 18th century and subsequently altered. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with chamfered gable copings on moulded kneelers. The original gable stacks have been altered. The house has a roughly L-shaped plan, with a rear wing extending from the main block. The front elevation has three bays and a continuous hood mould above the ground floor windows. The windows are double-chamfered; the ground floor has two five-light windows, each with a four-light window above, all with two mullions removed. To the right of these is a two-light window with a later single-light window above. A doorway, topped with a Tudor arched lintel, is set within a plain gable wall. The rear wing features a five-light double-chamfered window on the ground floor, and an altered four-light window on the first floor. The gable of the rear wing has a rebuilt entrance with a timber lintel and crude drip moulding. An outshut to the right of the wing contains a three-light double-chamfered window.
