Description
Burlees Cottages is a row of three cottages located on Burlees Lane in Mytholmroyd. Nos. 4 and 6 were built in the early 19th century, while No. 2 was added in 1818, as indicated by the date on its upper window lintel. The cottages are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof.
The buildings are two storeys tall, with No. 2 set back and rising to three storeys. Each cottage has quoins and is designed as a single cell. Nos. 4 and 6 each have a flat-faced mullioned window with a slightly projecting sill consisting of three lights to the left of the doorway, which has monolithic jambs. There is a four-light window on the first floor of these cottages. They also feature an eaves band with gutter brackets, coped gables with moulded kneelers, and chimney stacks, including one on the ridge. No. 2 has similar architectural features, including an arched window on the third floor and two storeys at the rear, along with coped gables and kneelers.
