Description

36 Clayton Road is an early to mid 19th century building that was formerly a chapel. It features a simple, ashlar front with three bays and buttresses. The building has a weathered cornice string and parapet coping, with saddlestones at the gable ends of the slate roof. The outer bays of the front have triple lancet windows, while the center bay has taller lancets flanking an entrance bay that contains a pointed arched blocked doorway, complete with a drip mould on carved stops. To the right, there is a former Sunday School extension made of sandstone "brick" with mullioned transomed windows.
