Description
Wheatley Grange is a symmetrical farmhouse dating from the 18th century, located on Leeds Road in Ilkley. It is a two-storey building constructed from coursed, dressed stone. The facade features three sash windows with glazing bars, where the middle window is slightly narrower than the others. Each window has projecting slab surrounds and brackets supporting the sills. The doorway has chamfered jambs, a straight moulded hood, an overlight, and a door with four moulded panels. The house is topped with gable chimneys that have moulded cornices, and the gable copings are supported by kneelers. The north end of the building has two wide-spaced windows that match the others, while the rear includes a round-headed stair window. Wheatley Grange is part of a group that includes the walling to the drive, outbuildings enclosing the farmyard, and a barn located to the south of the house.
