Description
Nos 10 and 12 Billinglsey Terrace are an early 19th century pair of small, two-storey houses built from sandstone, likely around 1820. Number 12 features some earlier work at the rear and has a rendered front. Both houses have stone slate roofs with saddlestones and a large common chimney stack in the center. Each house has two windows on both floors, with squared jambs that stand proud and are widely spaced. They both have enclosed stone porches, with the porch of No 12 being gabled. The doorways have squared jambs and are topped with entablature moulding that extends into the reveal and over the doorhead, featuring plain arched fanlights with keystones. The rear elevation of No 12 is distinctive, showcasing a jettied gabled first floor with a two-light square mullioned window, along with single-light and three-light square mullioned windows and a central doorway, all with squared jambs on the ground floor. The overhang is supported by carved cast iron columns, while a massive stone corbel at the west end is supported by a later pier.
