Description
High Fold Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with significant alterations made in the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and five first-floor windows, with quoins on the left side.
The original doorway, which had a quoined surround and a chamfered lintel, has been blocked and replaced by a late 18th-century window. The central entrance now consists of a 20th-century board door set in a plain stone surround. To the right of the door is a three-light double-chamfered mullion window with round-headed lights, and to the left is a four-light double-chamfered mullion window. A continuous drip moulding runs above the central door and windows.
On the first floor, there are five two-light flat-faced mullion windows with flush stone surrounds. Inside, the room to the right retains its original fireplace, and there is a quoined, chamfered, Tudor-arched doorway on the left wall, which has been blocked and originally led to a cellar.
