Description
The Guard House, which serves as a Roman Catholic presbytery and church, along with an attached barn, likely dates from 1791, as indicated by the date on the barn. The building is constructed of stone and features stone slate roofs. The house is two storeys high with three first-floor windows and has quoins at the corners. It includes a central doorway with a pediment. On either side of the doorway, there are two-light flat-faced mullion windows on both floors, and a single-light window is positioned above the door. The right side of the house has a bay window on the ground floor and a two-light window above it. The building has kneelers and coping. The barn, which is oriented at right angles to the house, features giant round relieving arches and has an inscription above its doorway. It includes a semi-circular loft window, pigeon holes, and a hipped roof.
