Description

This is a house, now divided into two dwellings, built in the mid-17th and late 17th centuries, with early 18th-century additions. It is constructed of coursed stone, with a cement render on the front, and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high, with a rear range, and originally had three windows on the first floor, with a fourth later inserted. Quoins are visible on the right-hand side. There is a blocked plain stone surround doorway on the right (now a window), and a 20th-century door in a plain stone surround to its left. Two 20th-century garage doors are present at No. 73 on the left. The windows are double-shamfered mullion windows; to the ground floor, they have six lights, and above them, windows have three, eight, or five lights, with King mullions. One window above has a door inserted. Other windows are 20th-century replacements. A datestone, likely from the 20th century, is incised with ‘WC MC 1662 IR’. Shaped kneelers and ashlar coping are present, along with end and central stacks. A two-storey cell to the left (part of No. 71) has been heavily modernized and is not of particular architectural interest.

At the rear, Nos. 75 and 67 have altered double-chamfered mullion windows of six and five lights to the ground floor, with two and five lights above (one mullion removed). No. 71, on the right, features a chamfered, triangular-headed doorway and flat-faced mullion window on the ground floor, and double-chamfered mullion windows above, featuring two and four lights (mullions have been removed). Shaped kneelers and ashlar coping are present, along with end stacks, the one on the left being external and stepped. A two-light window is positioned to the left of the stack on the right return.

Inside No. 67, a chamfered, segmentally-arched fireplace and two spine beams remain. These beams sit upon a scratch-moulded bressumer carved with "WC MC 1662 IR". No. 75 retains a chamfered square-headed fireplace and original ceiling beams.
