Description

Bunkers Hill is a small, well-proportioned terrace of estate cottages located along Cunliffe Lane in Esholt. Dating to the late 18th century through the early 19th century, the central house, number 4, is the oldest of the group. The cottages are constructed of square-cut sandstone "bricks" and have stone slate roofs with corniced chimneys. A wooden gutter runs along the later numbers 5 and 6, supported by paired block brackets. Console brackets adorn the eaves of numbers 1 and 4. Numbers 1 to 3 each have one window to the front, which is a two-light square mullioned casement. Number 4 has two windows: a two-light Venetian pattern with square mullions and frames. Numbers 5 and 6 each feature two small, single-light framed first-floor windows, alongside two-light square mullioned ground-floor windows. The doorways are plain, with number 1 having a gabled, finialed wooden porch.
