Description
Crow Trees Farm, Myers Crow Trees, Underdown, Rose Cottage, and Crow Trees House is an L-shaped block of a farmhouse and cottages that dates back to the mid 17th century, with possible earlier origins. It is associated with Esholt Priory and later the estate. The building consists of two sections and is constructed from coursed gritstone with roughly dressed quoins. It features stone slate roofs, saddlestones, and shaped kneelers, along with large corniced chimneys. A wooden gutter spout is present on the south gable end.
There have been some alterations to the windows in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The south front has two light chamfered mullion windows, while the circa 1800 extension of Crow Trees House includes square mullions. The doorways have squared jambs, but Crow Trees House retains a chamfered doorway with a lintel inscribed "P. over N B 1661," situated under a gabled stone porch that is inscribed "Restored 1881." The east front features five windows with square mullions from around 1800 and squared jamb doorways. There is also a barn wing to the west, made of gritstone and covered with stone slates.
