Description

Sexton's Lodge is a small, single-storey building with a T-shaped plan, dating from 1846. The building exhibits Jacobean detailing. It is constructed of large sandstone "bricks" with flush quoins and a weathered plinth. The gabled ends feature saddlestones with kneelers, and the chimneys act as octagonal finials. The front features two-light chamfered mullioned windows with diamond-leaded casements and drip moulds, along with a gabled porch. A rear wing mirrors the front with similar windows and external chimneys. A lintel above the doorway is inscribed with “W R C 1846”. The building is described as picturesque.
