Description
Number 23 on Main Street, which includes No 12 Church Lane at the corner, is a building dating from around 1850. It is two storeys tall and constructed from sandstone "brick." The roof is hipped and covered with stone slates, featuring consoles supporting a stone gutter. The first floor has wood casements with thin glazing bars, positioned on a splayed corner and along the return. The ground floor features a similar casement, a large fixed glazing bar window, and double doors with a cornice on console brackets. There is also a secondary entrance and a splayed corner with a casement on the return. This building is significant due to its important corner location and is included for its group value.
