Description

The courtyard entrance and walling at Upper Headley Hall, dated 1669, features an archway with a semi-circular head, moulded imposts, rusticated voussoirs, and a keystone that is initialed "M". This entrance is set in a small recess that includes stone seats. Above the archway and at the corners of the recess, there are ball finials on moulded bases. The dry stone walling on either side has a moulded capping. This structure is recognized for its significance as the formal entrance to the Hall.
