Description
Numbers 24, 28, 32, 34A, and 34 (Hill End) is a building dated 1714, although it was likely refaced in the late 18th century. This two-storey structure features thinly coursed sandstone that resembles brick and includes five bays, with a barn under the same roof. The roof is covered with stone slates and saddlestones with kneelers, and there are flanking corniced chimneys. The front of the house is symmetrical and has rusticated quoins and a platband between the storeys. The windows, which have 19th-century glazing, are surrounded by architraves. The platband arches over an architrave doorway that contains a plaque inscribed with the initials H over T M and the date 1714. Additionally, a mid-19th century cottage has been built onto the east end of the barn.
