Description
Crown Cottage and The Crown Inn is a long, low, two-storey building made of sandstone "brick," situated on a narrow site with its rear facing Old Road. The front of the building is rendered, and it features a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys. There are four two-light square mullion windows. The ground floor of the public house has two large canted stone bays from the early 19th century, with square mullions that divide the three lights, and deep parapets that have likely been altered. The rear elevation includes two-light square mullion windows set in squared frames, along with squared jamb doorways. Mid-19th century cast iron railings line the edge of the sunken pavement.
