Description
Yate Cottage and Yate House are a house and cottage located on Yate Lane in Keighley. The house dates from the mid-18th century, while the cottage was added in the late 18th to early 19th century. The buildings are constructed from dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys tall and have four first-floor windows, with an additional bay on the right side.
The exterior includes raised, chamfered quoins and a first-floor band. The off-centre doorway is adorned with pilasters, a frieze, and a pediment. There are two double-chamfered mullion and transom windows on each floor, with configurations of 4, 4, and 6 lights, and above the doorway, there is a round-headed window with a keystone and imposts. The added bay features flat-faced mullion windows. The building has shaped kneelers and ashlar coping, along with five corniced stacks. The left return has a round-headed window with a keystone and imposts, while the right return has two 2-light flat-faced mullion windows.
