Description
Sutton Stoop is a boundary stone dating from the 17th century or early 18th century. It is a roughly dressed monolith with a rectangular shape and an arched head. The stone features a deeply incised Maltese cross, beneath which is inscribed the word "Sutton." At the base, there is a bench mark indicating a height of 1124 feet. This stone marks the boundary between North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
