Description
The Falconry at Birley Old Hall is a garden pavilion built around 1705 and restored in 1959 by D Doncaster. It is constructed from squared dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof topped with a finial and wind vane. The building has a chamfered plinth, quoins, and coped gables on each side. It is a single-storey structure with a square plan. The north side has a moulded stone doorcase with a cornice and a 19th-century half-glazed door. The other sides each have a single renewed 12-pane sash window. This pavilion may have been used in connection with falconry.
