Description
Electric transformer located at the junction with Belgrave Road, built around 1900 by the British Electric Transformer Company of Hayes, Middlesex. The transformer features a circular column that is approximately 1 meter in diameter and 2.5 meters high, adorned with vertical ribs and horizontal bands. It has a panelled frieze and a cornice decorated with egg-and-dart ornamentation. The top is shallow conical and capped with a ball finial. There are two pairs of double doors on opposite sides, with the upper pairs being smaller. This transformer is an early example of electricity distribution equipment.
