Description
The Walsh monument and railing at Rivelin Glen Cemetery, dating from around 1890, is dedicated to the Walsh family. It features ashlar and marble construction with granite dressings. The monument consists of a square rusticated vault with chamfered coping, which supports a cast-iron crest and railing, with posts connected by chains. There are steps leading to a blocked entrance, lined with glazed bricks, and a paved flat top. In the center, there is a square marble pedestal with round-arched inscribed panels on each side, topped by a pedimented canopy supported by four granite Doric columns. Atop the canopy stands a figure approximately 1.5 meters high.
