Description
The vestry offices, along with their attached railings and gates, were built in 1864 and are designed in the Jacobean Revival style. The building is constructed from ashlar and coursed squared stone, featuring ashlar dressings and a hipped slate roof with two capped ridge stacks.
On the exterior, there is a plinth, sill and lintel bands, rusticated pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course adorned with urns on pedestals. The central semicircular pediment, which is dated 1864, adds to the decorative elements. The structure is two storeys high and has a window arrangement of five by eight. Most windows are stone mullioned cross casements. The front façade is divided into bays by pilasters, with double pilasters flanking the central bay and at the corners. The central bay features five windows, with the middle one having three lights.
A central portico is supported by rusticated square columns and includes an enriched frieze and a parapet with a central crest and flanking finials. The round-arched entrance has a diamond keystone and leads to a pair of half-glazed doors topped with a fanlight. There is a single window on each side of the entrance, with two additional windows on either side of the façade.
The exterior also features spiked wrought-iron railings, with two pairs of square ashlar gate piers that have moulded caps, leading to two double gates. The right return of the building has three windows on each floor, while the lower rear range contains five windows, two of which are double transomed, separated by pilasters with finials.
At the rear, there is a flat-roofed porch that includes a string course, parapet, crest, and urns, along with a moulded round-arched doorway featuring double doors, a keystone, and a fanlight, flanked by rusticated pilasters. To the right of the porch is a two-light mullioned window, and further right is a single-storey projection in a similar style, with a round corner and a two-light mullioned window. The rear gable features a double transomed window flanked by single light windows. The interior has not been inspected.
