Description
No. 6 and the adjoining carriage arches on the west side are a house and arches dating from the mid-18th century. The building is constructed from coursed, dressed sandstone and has a Welsh slate roof. It stands two storeys high with attics and features three openings on the first floor. The corners are accented with chamfered ashlar quoins. The entrance door, from the 20th century, is set in a quoin-strip surround with projecting and chamfered alternate blocks. The lintel above is shaped to create chamfered springers and a keystone. The flanking windows on both floors have projecting square-faced surrounds, with the left ground-floor window retaining its sash with glazing bars, while the others have matching casements. There is a matching surround to a small blind opening above the door. The right side has a shaped kneeler and square-cut gable copings. The end stacks are renewed brick. The carriage arches to the left are set back and feature monolithic square-sectioned piers, with two elliptically-arched openings, each having imposts and a keystone, and coped walling above.
