Description

This pair of outbuildings, located approximately 20 metres to the north-east of Marr Hall, likely dates from the mid 18th century, with a 20th-century linking canopy. Constructed from rubble limestone, they feature 20th-century cement-tile eaves courses and a renewed pantile roof. The two small rectangular outbuildings are set at right angles and connected by a pitched-roof canopy.

The outbuilding on the right has large quoins, with a cutaway on the left corner. It features a keyed segmental arch for the carriage entrance on the right, and a door on the far left with a bonded ashlar surround and a 7-pane overlight above the lintel. To the right of this door are two 20-pane casements with square-faced surrounds. The loft openings also have similar surrounds and a sill band, with renewed pigeon holes and ledges. This outbuilding has a hipped roof.

The left outbuilding is set forward and styled similarly, with external front wall steps leading to doors above and below the landing. There is a 20th-century brick stack to the left at the eaves. The right return features two doorways and some inserted casements, along with two original first-floor windows that have casements. A 20th-century brick lean-to on the left return is not of special interest. These outbuildings are included for their group value.
