Description
House, probably dating from circa 1700, altered in the early and late 19th century. Constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. The building is two storeys and has attic accommodation, with four windows on the first floor, built to a double-depth plan. Later additions have not been deemed of special interest. The front facade was altered in the late 19th century and features a central door with an overlight, set in a wooden doorcase, flanked by bay windows with paired sash windows. The eaves have brick coping, with end stacks. The rear elevation is more characterful, with sash windows containing glazing bars, set in wooden architraves; bay three has casements on each floor. The roof is a two-span design with brick end stacks, one of which has been truncated, alongside a near-central ridge stack. The interior, which has not been inspected, is said to contain inglenook fireplaces. Despite alterations, the house retains its character from the early 18th century.
